PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized infrared image sensing apparatus having not only high spatial resolving power and high resolving power of temp. but also a wide measuring range, by scanning the reference heat source in front of a scanning mirror and selecting the filters arranged in close vicinity to a condensing optical system corresponding to the intensity of incident infrared beams. CONSTITUTION:The infrared beams 11a incident from an observation visual filed and the infrared beams 11b emitted from a reference heat source 1 pass through an optical filter 2 via X/Y direction scanning mirrors 12x, 12y to enter a condensing lens 13 and detected by an infrared detector 14 to be sent to an amplifying circuit 15. A plurality of windows containing a transparent one of the filter 2 are selected corresponding to the intensity of incident infrared beams. Because the condensing lens 13 is constituted of one group consisting of two positive and negative lenses, aberration correction is easy, and resolving power and spatial resolving power are enhanced and a measuring temp. range is widened and miniaturization can be achieved.
