PURPOSE:To ensure always stable transferability and development performance even under circumstances of high temperature and high humidity or low temperature and low humidity by composing a developer of electrically conductive spherical particles each covered on the surface with a magnetic metallic layer specified in thickness and an insulating magnetic toner. CONSTITUTION:The surface of each resin particle affinitive to metals is covered with the 0.1-2.0mum thick magnetic metallic layer to form a particle having a particle diameter of 0.5-100mum, preferably, 2.0-50mum, and these conductive particles are mixed with the insulating toner in an amount of 0.5-5.0wt% to form a developer. It is preferred for each resin particle affinitive to metals to have a spherical form, and it is more effective for each to have a true spherical form, thus permitting metal distribution to be made uniform, moreover its specific gravity to be raised to 1.2-3.0, the difference between this and that of the insulating toner (1.4-1.5) to be lessened, as compared with the case of using metal particles alone, and consequently, the resin particles covered with a metal on the surface to be uniformly mixed with the insulating magnetic toner. |
