PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of construction work by a method in which a tamper plate is moved on the next compacting place, together with at least a part of the already compacted ground, and the ground is compacted at a time to several meters under the ground by a large-scale vibrator. CONSTITUTION:A vibrator 4 is mounted through a fitting part 3 on the nearly central position of the upside of a tamper plate 1. A buffer 5 is inserted between the vibrator 4 and its hanging wire 6. The vibrator 4 used is one having a vibrating force of tens hundreds tons, a vibrating number of hundreds Hz, an imaginary amplitude of 15-25mm, and an imaginary acceleration of 5-10g. The ground to be compacted is compacted by the plate of a size of aXb, and the plate 1 is moved by b/2 sidewards to compact the position. In the same way, the ground is compacted by lapping the position by b/2 each.
