PURPOSE:To enable the formation of a liquid crystal element with a simple stage even in the case of a high resolution and large number of electrodes by using flexible circuit boards as electrode substrates to constitute the liquid crystal element and sticking reinforcing members only to the parts corresponding to a display region. CONSTITUTION:Patterned conductor films 3, 4 consisting of copper (indium oxide in place of the copper in a surface region 5) as stock are formed on the surfaces of the flexible circuit boards 1, 2 for which transparent base films are used. The region 5 where two sheets of the flexible circuit boards 1, 2 provided to cross each other is the display region. Polarizing plates 9 and 10, the outside peripheries of which have the same size as the size of the outside edge of an adhesive agent 6 are stuck as the reinforcing members to the outside surfaces in the respective display region 5 parts of two sheets of the flexible circuit boards 1 and 2. The driving is thereby permitted without requiring the intricate stage for connecting many pieces of the electrodes between a display panel and the driving circuit. |
