PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a display picture by providing a multiplexer so as to output a preset prescribed digital signal or an output code signal of a coding circuit selectively according to an output signal of a mis-code detection circuit thereby reducing the effect of a mis-code in a parallel A/D converter. CONSTITUTION:If a comparator 2 generates a mis-code, a mis-code detection circuit 10 detects the mis-code. Then a digital signal generating circuit 11 outputs a prescribed digital signal to a multiplexer 12 according to the output signal of the mis-code detection circuit 10 and the multiplexer 12 outputs an output signal of the digital signal generating circuit 11 according to the output signal of the mis-code detection circuit 10 selectively. Further, a series of operations above is executed at each time at each clock period. Thus, if a mis-code is generated, the level is set to a white or a black level, the effect of the mis-code is reduced in comparison with that of a conventional constitution and the picture with high quality is obtained.
