CONSTITUTION:When a start button 25 is operated in playing, a state goes to a restart state, and also, when a repeat button 26 is depressed, the state goes to a repeat state. When the tone arm is not positioned at the rest position, namely, for example, in case it is at a start or repeat state, and after a playing is completed, and the arm returns to the rest position, it is decided by a microcomputer 22 whether a restart is performed or not. When the restart is not performed, it is decided whether a repeat playing is performed or not, and when the repeat playing is not performed, the state goes to a standby state without performing a start operation. In the restart, or the repeat playing, a record size switching button 24 decides whether a record size is the same one played in the previous time, and when it is the same, the playing is started, and when it is not, the state goes to the standby state.
