PURPOSE:To provide a recording medium which is suitable for recording and reproduction with a small bias magnetic field by providing a perpendicularly magnetized film layer via a dielectric film on a rare earth-ferrous amorphous film of substantially compensation point writing which has high coercive force of hard magnetism and is formed on a transparent substrate. CONSTITUTION:The multi-layered film medium disposed with the perpendicularly magnetized film 5 via the dielectric film 4 on the surface of the film of substantially compensation point writing (writing is executed by impressing a bias magnetic field in the same direction as the direction of initial magnetization) is formed. The purpose of providing the dielectric film 4 between the rare earth-ferrous amorphous recording film 3 and the 2nd, for example, perpendicularly magnetized metallic film 5 is to prevent the spoiling of recording sensitivity. The effect of protecting the rare earth-ferrous amorphous film 3 having poor corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance is generated if, for example, the perpendicularly magnetized film 5 consisting of Co-Cr, Co-Ni-P, etc., exhibiting high corrosion resistance is used for the magnetized film.
