PURPOSE:To enable a magnetic disk alone to write a servo signal, and an address area, by writing the servo signal synchronizing with a frequency power generation output generating for the control of the member of rotation of a spindle motor. CONSTITUTION:By making a head off a normal track position by a regulated quantity in a radius direction, and operating a write circuit 18 setting a sector pulse generated from a waveform arranging circuit 14 as a trigger, a servo pattern is recorded after an appropriate timing based on a signal from a servo signal generator 15. Such write operation is performed for all of the sectors on one circle in order, and after completing the recording of one circle, the head is made off the track by the regulated quantity again, and a sequence of write operation of the servo signal is repeated. At such a time, since a write position on a medium is stipulated setting the sector pulse as the trigger, it is possible to write the servo signal at a designated position on the medium regardless of fluctuation in rotation.
