PURPOSE:To relieve the load of a host computer by forming change data and data registered newly of a document pattern onto an external storage medium in advance and registering the data in a magnetic disk device in the system as a document data file. CONSTITUTION:In inputting document pattern data from a storage medium of an external storage device 1', a central processing control section 31 forms a document pattern file in a magnetic disk device 33, applies DMA transfer the document pattern data into a memory section 51 of a facsimile response device 5, where the data is registered. In sending data such as document pattern number and character data to the facsimile response system 2 from the host computer 1, a facsimile response device 5 reads the document pattern data corresponding to a received document pattern number from the memory section 51, the document pattern data and the character data are synthesized to apply facsimile output service to a facsimile terminal equipment 8.
