PURPOSE:To reproduce both planes without turning over a disk, and to reduce the damage of the disk, by storing a reproducing signal obtained by tracing for a share of the prescribed number of rotation of a video disk revolving in a reverse direction on a memory temporarily, and repeating the readout of the reproducing signal in order in the reverse sequence of tracing. CONSTITUTION:The movement of a head position is controlled so that a pickup head 3b is moved in order every other track from the outside track to the inside track, for example, first of all, from the second most outside track to the most outside track, next, from the third most outside track to the second most outside track. A picture signal obtained at this stage, is written by every track on memories 5a and 5b. Those memories 5a and 5b are switched and controlled in such a way that the memory on one side is read out while the memory on the other side is written, and also, a readout is performed in the reverse sequence of a write. A read out picture (sound) signal is demodulation- processed at a demodulation circuit, then, makes a display device, or a speaker to operate.
