PURPOSE:To perform color printing which is free from color deviation, by detecting the time between the outputting of a picture recording signal from a picture recorder and the detection of the signal by a laser beam detector and finely adjusting the laser beam projecting position in the auxiliary scanning direction against a photosensitive body in accordance with the detected time. CONSTITUTION:The time from the time when a picture recording signal is outputted to the time when a synchronization detector 22a detects a laser beam 7a is detected by a counter 25a. The detected time is compared with a prescribed reference value and an applying voltage value is calculated by an operation processing circuit 27a. After the calculation, the projecting position of the laser beam 7a against a photosensitive body 1a is slightly changed by elongating/contracting a piezoelectric element 24a by applying a prescribed voltage and changing the angle of a mirror 13a. As a result, the beam 7a irradiates the photosensitive body 1a with no delay. This state is also obtained from optical systems 3b, 3c, and 3d against photosensitive bodies 1b, 1c, and 1d. The times from the outputs of picture recording signals to the synchronization detection of the laser beams 7b, 7c, and 7d are respectively detected by counters and angles of mirrors are corrected in accordance with the times.
