PURPOSE:To obtain a core structure which has stable magnetic characteristics against a change in the lapse of time and is excellent in yield by making the border between the 1st magnetic film and a block on a medium slide surface not parallel regardless of the variation of the slide surface while the 1st magnetic film is not formed in a groove for winding. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic pole-gap-magnetic pole element function is satisfied by a material 2 with highly saturated magnetic flux density as the 1st magnetic pole, a gap material 7, and a material 8 with highly saturated magnetic flux density as the 2nd magnetic pole which are formed one after another on a substrate 1 with high magnetic permeability. The border between the substrate 1 and material 2 is not parallel to the gap 7 on the head slide surface to suppress the appearance of contour effect. A protection plate has a nonmagnetic material 11 on the slide surface side and the clearance to the 2nd magnetic pole 8, or adhesive layer does not become a dummy gap. Further, the lowermost point of the nonmagnetic material 11 or 13 on the side where the protection plate faces the gap is put as close to the slide surface as possible preferably in terms of characteristic, that is because the magnetic resistance of a magnetic circuit is smaller as the high-magnetic-permeability material 12 of the protection plate is closer to the slide surface.
