The invention relates to a method for actuating a coupling device intended to switch an inertia mass into or out of the drive and transmission circuit 9, 11, 12, 13, 14 of a motor vehicle equipped with an internal combustion engine 9, so as to damp out the load- variation oscillations at low frequency. By means of a control device 8, it is possible, by identifying either the engine speed or the movements of the fuel metering device intended for the engine, to define an instant at which the switch-over process of the coupling device is actuated. The actuating process repeatedly switches an inertia mass into or out of the circuit in the opposite direction to the load-variation device, so that the load-variation oscillations at low frequency are damped out in a very short time. <IMAGE> |
