PURPOSE:To enable accurate judgement on whether a submarine cable can be buried in a projected route or not, by providing a plurality of temperature sensor units at the tip of an anchor to detect a friction heat caused by an accumulation on the sea bottom while a tension meter is used jointly. CONSTITUTION:An anchor 1 for survey has a plurality of sensor units 10 inside the tip of the anchor body 14 and the sensor units 10 each house a temperature sensor 11 into a sensor protecting tube 12 while the circumference thereof is covered with a heat insulating material 13. Generally, an accumulation on the sea bottom has a natural penetration resistance and generates a certain amount of friction heat when a certain object is penetrated into the sea bottom. Variations in the generation of the friction heat with the submarine accumulation can be determined as change in the temperature with a temperature sensor 11. When the condition of the sea bottom is surveyed, a friction heat generated between the anchor 1 and the sea bottom is detected with the temperature sensor 11 within the tip of the anchor 1 to determine the quality of the bottom in the projected route for burying a submarine cable. In addition, the joint use of a tension meter permits judgement specifically on whether a submarine able can be buried into the sea bottom or not.
