PURPOSE:To easily give the same document name when a document is read out and edited and is stored again in a storage means, by providing a word processor with the same document name selecting means. CONSTITUTION:If the same name key on a keyboard 3 is operated when the document is read out and edited and is stored again in the storage means, a CPU 13 reads out the document name stored in a call document name storage part 16a before document editing and transfers it to a preserved document name storage part 16b and displays it on a document name write column to terminate the processing. A user can see the displayed document name to correct it. If the same name key is not operated, a new document name is written in the area 16b of a work memory by character keys on the keyboard 3 to terminate the processing.
