A process serves for producing plastic carrier bags. The said bags are severed or detached with a seal by transverse welding seams and transverse separating cuts or transverse welding/separating seams from tubular webs provided with side folds. They are provided, at least in the bottom region, with corner welding seams which are arranged separately from one another in the two folds and, extending from the outer folding edges, run diverging obliquely in the direction of the top and/or bottom welding seam and, ending before the inner folding edge, open out into the latter. To be able to produce unproblematically the bags with corner points, removed already during the production process, without the tubular web of plastic from which the bags are produced being stretched during the production process in their central region, causing distortion of the side fold regions, the tubular web (1) is provided before execution of the transverse welding seams and transverse separating cuts or of the transverse welding/separating seams with the corner welding seams and, on their sides facing the transverse welding seams, with perforation lines (8) of approximately the same length at a distance from and substantially parallel to the said corner welding seams. The corner points bounded by the perforation lines (8) and the transverse separating cuts are torn off before the stacking of the bags (Fig. 2). <IMAGE> |
