<p>An aqueous acid gas scrubbing composition comprises (a) at least one alkali metal salt, suitably potassium carbonate, and (b) at least one defined primary sterically hindered amino acid. Examples are 2-aminoisobutyric acid; 4-amino- 4 methyl pentanoic acid; and 1-amino-cyclopentane carboxylic acid. A pentavalent vanadium compound may also be present as a corrosion inhibitor.</p> |
