The production of a tray (1), having corner supports (5) which are folded from projections at side walls (4) and are each connected to the adjacent side wall (3), and having a covering part (6) which covers the open upper side of the corner supports (5) and is linked to a side wall (4) in the region of the respective corner supports (5) via a first fold line (7) and to which a bonding flap (9) is linked via a second fold line perpendicular to the first fold line (7), which bonding flap can be bonded to the other side wall (3), can be implemented using simple means and unexpectedly if the tray (1) is pressed upwards during a movement in a shaft against the bottom (2') of a preceding tray (1') and the folding of the first fold line (7) is carried out during this process and if, during the further upward movement of the tray (1), the bonding flaps are moved past stationary pressing-on elements (11).
