A platelet (23, 24), which is in each case fastened to the external power supply lead (21, 22), consisting of a ferromagnetic material is arranged on the side facing away from the discharge vessel (10) within the lamp shafts (11, 12) which are arranged on opposite sides on the discharge vessel (10), by means of which platelet (23, 24) the electrode system which is located in the lamp shafts (11, 12), together with the sealing films (19, 20), likewise assumes the rotation (6) of the permanent magnets (3, 4). Thus, the axial position of the electrodes (15, 16) within the discharge vessel (10) can also be precisely adjusted by means of the permanent magnets (3, 4). The sealing is effected by means of the burner (5) which is guided by a stepping motor (9) uniformly in the direction of the other ends of the sealing films (19, 20) from those ends of the sealing films (19, 20) which face the discharge vessel (10). The constrictions (13, 14) in the transition region of the discharge vessel (10) to the respective lamp shafts (11, 12) ensure that the electrodes (15, 16) run precisely axially during the sealing. <IMAGE>
