Thermal insulation material, principally in the form of panels and mats, consisting of air-evacuated, flat airtight envelopes in which equal-sized reflective panels are located which are stacked one on top of the other and are separated from one another and also with respect to the inner envelope walls by disperse or distributed microsupports, the envelope, the panels and the microsupports being made of the same or of different materials, such as glass, ceramic, metal, plastics and/or combinations of these substances. Several applications are also patented.
