The invention relates to an electrical switch, especially for electrical systems in a motor vehicle, having a switching lever which is displaceable horizontally or vertically or can pivot about a rotation axis, influences switching contact arrangements by means of its section located in the switch housing, and has a latching element which is supported in a sprung manner and engages in a latching cam in order to define switch positions which are located one behind the other in the switching direction.
