PURPOSE:To always provide the leading end part of a film with high rigidity by arranging a means for working rugged stripes on a film carrier and machining the rugged stripes at every use of the film. CONSTITUTION:A groove machining device 20 mainly consists of an upper member 21 and a lower member 22 which are positioned while clamping a carrier, the lower member 22 is fixed on the body side of a film carrying device and the upper member 21 is fitted so as to be freely rotatively around a pin 23 fixed on the body. The plunger rod 24A of a solenoid 24 is pivotally coupled with the end part of the upper member 21 through a pin 25, the upper member 21 is rotated around a pin 23 by the vertical movement of the rod 24A and the other end side is contacted/separated with/from the lower member 22. When the leading end of the film is separated from a reel 6 and passed through a sensor 30, the solenoid 24 is turned on, the upper member 21 is rotated and the film is held between the upper member 21 and the lower member 22 and deformed by the projected parts and recessed grooves of both members 21, 22.
