PURPOSE:To remove damage on the leading end of a film and to smoothly carry the film by making it possible to release the carrying pressure of a carrying means, and after detecting that the leading end of the film is carried up to a prescribed position passed a carry driving position, applying the carrying pressure to carry the film. CONSTITUTION:Since a pinch roller 11 is released when the film 1 is carried in the clockwise direction by driving a belt 4 and reaches a driving roller 9 with the inclination of only an angle alpha from the regular carrying direction, the leading end 1A of the film 1 is guided by a carrying guide 25, and while being corrected at its direction, carried in a prescribed direction as shown by a double dotted chain line. When the leading end 1A of the film reaches a sensor 16, a plunger 14 is driven by a control means in accordance with a film leading end detecting signal outputted from the sensor 16, an arm 13 is rotated and the film 1 is clamped with pressure between a pinch roller 11 and a driving roller 9. Consequently, stable carrying free from the generation of a bias or jam is attained.
