PURPOSE:To replace simply and completely a gas in pair glass in a short time blowing a gas into the space among a pair of glass sheets and spacers from through-holes pierced in one of the spacers and by exhausting air from through- holes pierced in the other. CONSTITUTION:When a gas (g) such as dry flon gas is lighter in weight than air (h), the gas (g) is fed from an end 9 of an upper spacer 2a under pressure. The gas spouts into a space 3 from all of through-holes 4. Air (h) or an old gas mixed with air in the space 3 is exhausted from an end 9 of an under spacer 2a through all of through-holes 4 to replace completely the gas (h) with the gas (g). The open ends 9 of the upper and under spacers 2a are then sealed with a sealant. The resulting pair glass A is set in an Al frame and used as a part of furnishings such as a window. When the gas (g) is heavier than air (h), the gas (g) is blown through the under spacer 2a, and air (h) is exhausted through the upper spacer 2a. |
