PURPOSE:To detect corrosion of a tension steel material simply and accurately, by smoothing the exposed end face of the tension steel material of an anchor buried into the ground to perform an ultrasonic flaw detection by putting a probe on the smoothed end face. CONSTITUTION:A tension steel material 3 of an anchor is passed through a synthetic resin pipe 6, drawn from a head 7 of the anchor, and then the end face 3 thereof is covered with a cap. The cap is removed to expose the end face 3b of the steel material 3 and the end face is smoothed by grinding. A probe 13 of an ultrasonic flaw detector is put on the smoothed end face 3b to transmit an echo signal to a display 14. The display 14 shows the position of corrosion and a waveform peak proportional to the depth of the corrosion. Thus, as a flaw detection is made by putting a probe on the end face of a tension steel material, this enables inspection of the position of corrosion and the depth of corrosion accurately and quickly without digging out the ground.
