PURPOSE:To enable a noise to be substantially reduced, by interposing an intermediate block, which forms hollow having an almost trapezoidal external shape, between neighboring V-shaped friction blocks while a spring between the intermediate block and the link plate of a chain. CONSTITUTION:An endless transmission chain 30 is supported through bushes by pins 40 to right and left both side walls of V-shaped friction transmission blocks 10, whose front and rear surfaces in bottom side halves are tapered, and intermediate blocks 20, 20' are interposed between the blocks 10. Said intermediate block 20, which forms hollow having an almost trapezoidal external shape, stops both end parts of an almost U-shaped leaf spring 21 by a pin 22 fixed to an outer link plate 32, and the block 20, when it moves upward, compresses the leaf spring 21. Accordingly, when wrapping is started with a sheave, the intermediate blocks 20, 20', which first come into contact with the sheave, absorbs collision energy by the deformation of the leaf springs 21, 21', thereafter the V-shaped friction block 10 in the next pitch comes into contact with the sheave. In this way, a wrapping noise can be substantially decreased.
