PURPOSE:To surely prevent air leakage from the slot of a cylinder, by a method in which an elastic ridge protruding from a seal band for said slot is hangingly engaged with a hanging ridge provided on the inside face of said cylinder. CONSTITUTION:On the top side of an air cylinder 1, a slot 3 is provided which is cut out over the full length of said cylinder 1 and opens from the inside face to the outside face of said cylinder 1. Protruding ridges 17 with a cross-section of a profile bent like a hook are formed at both sides of the bottom edges of said slot 3, and a fixing hole 16 is so formed as to set a rubber-made seal band 19 therein, which is to seal said slot 3 and from which elastic ridges 21 are protruded forming a shape able to engage hookedly with said protruding ridges 17. Due to the above construction, as said seal band 19 can be held in the sealing position of said slot 3 with said elastic ridges 21 of said seal band 19 engaging with said protruding ridges 17, air leak from said slot 3 can be surely prevented because said seal band 19 will not hang down into a piston chamber even when the pressure in the piston chamber becomes low. |
