PURPOSE:To perform a sharp image recording, hardly generating trailing of fog in a transferred image, by a method wherein the ink in an ink sump comprising a glass material is lowered in its viscosity to be transferred onto a medium and recorded immediately thereafter the ink in a housing is replenished into the ink sump. CONSTITUTION:A window 7 provided on a heat generating body 4 is constituted of a glass material having a softening point of 150 deg.C or more. When a voltage pulse is applied to the heat generating body 4 through an electrode 6, the heat generating body 4 generates heat to heat the semisolid ink 3 in the vicinity of said heat generating body 4. The ink is lowered in its viscosity to pass through an ink passing hole 5 to spread in the ink sump 8 and radiates heat at this time to again return to the semisolid state. When the heat generating body 4 selectively radiates heat corresponding to an image signal, the semisolid ink 3 in the ink sump 8 is lowered in its viscosity to be transferred onto recording paper 9. When the ink sump 8 becomes empty by transfer, the ink in a housing 3 lowered in its viscosity by the heat generated by the heat generating body 4 is replenished into the ink sump 8. |
