PURPOSE:To prevent a head block from cracking and chipping by forming plural grooves through which an adhesive flows out in two head blocks in the height direction of the blocks, and reducing the joining area. CONSTITUTION:Plural grooves 27 where the adhesive flows out are formed in the joining surface of the 1st head block 20 for the 2nd head block 30 in the height direction of the block 20 corresponding to block positions. Further, plural groves 37 there the adhesive flows out are formed in the joining surface of the block 30 for the block 20 in the height direction of the block 30 at positions corresponding to the blade positions. Then, the adhesive made of a nonmagnetic material is applied as a spacer 40, which is sandwiched between the blocks 20 and 30; and the blocks are pressed against each other while the temperature is raised, thereby obtaining a composite head block. Then, the block is separated along the grooves 27 and 37 a shown by hatched parts to obtain magnetic head cores. Such a manufacturing method reduces the joining area and reduces the processing force, so the head block neither cracks nor chips.
