<p>A polymer membrane for use in separating a liquid mixture. It is prepared from a poly-(disubstituted acetylene)/polyorganosiloxane graft copolymer comprising the repeating units of formula (I), (wherein A represents alkyl, substituted alkyl, phenyl, substituted phenyl or formula (II), X represents H or formula (III), with A and X being optionally different for individual repeating units, provided that Y represents an oxygen atom or a divalent organic group, Z represents a polyorganosiloxane chain, and R<1> to R<8> may be the same or different and each represents alkyl, substituted alkyl, phenyl or substituted phenyl), with the molar ratio of the repeating units of poly(disubstituted acetylene) forming the main chain to those of polyorganosiloxane forming the side chain being 99/1 to 5/95, and having a molecular weight of at least 10,000. This membrane is excellent in both liquid permeability and liquid separating ability, thus being suited for separating a liquid mixture by pervaporation.</p> |
