PURPOSE:To obtain a toner giving high image density and having satisfactory fixability and superior developing properties by dropping a monomer system contg. an initiator into a dispersive medium system contg. fine particles of a toner formed once and by bonding the toner together. CONSTITUTION:A monomer system contg. an initiator is dropped into a dispersive medium system contg. fine particles of a toner formed once and the toner is bonded together to obtain a toner of irregular shape. The preferred particle size of the fine particles is <=5mum, especially 1-3mum. The monomers contg. the initiator are preferably added within 1-6hr after the beginning of polymn. by 1/100-1/1 of the amount of monomers used in the early stage. The number of rotations is 2,000-5,000r.p.m., preferably 2,500-4,500r.p.m. The preferred amount of water used during polymn. is 300-3,000pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. monomers and the preferred polymn. temp. is >=50 deg.C, usually 70-90 deg.C. |
