PURPOSE:To prevent a deficiency in thickness and the generation of fine cracks due to the movement of a glass gob by holding the gob at a specified position on the bottom face of a barrel die by vacuum suction when the molten glass gob is supplied on the inclined bottom face of the barrel die and press-formed. CONSTITUTION:When the molten glass gob 5 is supplied in the barrel die 3 having an inclined bottom face and press-formed by a dart die 1, plural air vent holes 4 having <=0.5mm diameter are provided on the inclined bottom face of the barrel die 3, the glass gob 5 is sucked to a specified position on the bottom face of the barrel die 3 by evacuating the hole with a vacuum pump, etc., and the flowing of the glass gob to a lower position along the inclined face is prevented. The glass is press-formed by the dart die 1 under such conditions, and hence a deficiency in the thickness of the formed article and the generation of fine cracks due to the movement of the glass gob are prevented.
