<p>PURPOSE:To attain high strength connection terminal processing having stable quality by simple working by grinding the end part of an optical fiber from above the coating for the fiber in the state in which the fiber is fixed by a sleeve and then removing the coat from the end part. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber strand 1 whose end part is cut off by scissors or the like is pressed and fixed with metallic halved 6 from the surface of the coat 2. Under said state, a rotary board 8 provided with a buff 7 is rotated to grind the end part. In this case, aluminum powder 9 kneaded with water is stuck to the surface of the buff 7 and the end face 5 of the optical fiber strand 1 is ground so as to be orthogonal to the optical axis. Then, the coat 2 of the end part 4 is dipped in acetone or the like, swelled and removed. Consequently, the end face 5 to be orthogonal to the optical axis and having a mirror surface can be easily obtained.</p> |
