<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently remove copper from a nickel electrolytic soln. at a low cost until a low concn. is attained, by simultaneously adding a prescribed equiv. each of sodium (hydro)sulfide and Ni matte powder to the electrolytic soln. CONSTITUTION:Copper ions contained as an impurity in a nickel electrolytic soln. used in a stage for electrolytically refining nickel are removed and electrolytic nickel contg. little impurities is obtd. In order to remove the copper ions, sodium hydrosulfide and Ni matte powder are added to the electrolytic soln. by >=0.7 equiv. each basing on the amount required by the copper in the soln. to form CuS. The copper ions can be efficiently removed in a short time by making the size of the Ni matte powder small, stirring the soln. at a proper temp. and adding a small amount of a precipitant. This method is also applicable to a soln. contg. a small amount of copper ions besides nickel ions.</p> |
