PURPOSE:To enable automatic exchange on both of a vertical and a horizontal tool mounting shaft with a simple structure by conveying a tool which is held horizontally by a magazine which makes vertical circulation, via devices which make horizontal movement, vertical rotation, vertical movement, and horizontal rotation respectively. CONSTITUTION:A tool 3 which is horizontally held along the guide rail 2 of a storage magazine 1 is moved and rotated by a laterally faced carrier 5 having an exchange arm 8 and moved to a tool pot 11. Then, the tool 3 is vertically rotated, 180 deg. rotated by the double exchange arm 15 of a longitudinally faced carrier 24, and mounted on the vertical main shaft 29 of a machine tool head 20. When an attachment 30 is automatically installed on the head 20, the tool 3 is 90 deg. rotated by an arm head 16 provided on the longitudinally faced carrier 24 and mounted on a tool mounting shaft 31 while being held horizontally. Accordingly, the tool can be automatically exchanged by controlling and driving the actuator of each carrier. |
