The sound-absorbing wall exhibits posts (1), which comprise tubes, and wall elements (2) which extend between said posts. Each wall element (2) contains fibrous sound-insulating mats (5) between a solid core panel (3), preferably consisting of Eternit, and an outer sheath (4) having a plurality of cutouts which are distributed over the surface and are intended for the introduction of the sound. On the vertical narrow side of the wall element (2), the outer surfaces (6, 7) of the outer sheath (4) are angled off inwards and form vertical abutment edges (11) with respect to which the core panel (3) is set back, with the result that, by means of the consequently concave outline of the narrow side, the wall element (2) butts closely against the tubular post (1). Through a plurality of slots (12) which are formed at intervals one above the other in the outer surfaces (6, 7), near the abutment edges (11), in each case one steel band (14) is guided through two wall elements (2) adjoining a tubular post (1), grips around the tubular post (1) and is tightened by means of a clamping screw closure (15). Said connection between tubular post (1) and wall elements (2) permits any angle of between 90@ and 180@ between the wall elements adjoining the post. <IMAGE>
