A method is proposed for fastening metal wires, especially very thin metal wires, on metallic connecting supports by heat deformation of the connecting support, in the case of which method the wire end (4) is passed a plurality of times through the cutout (3, 3a) in the connecting support (1) in order to counteract severe deformation of the wire (5) in the region of the fastening point and in consequence to improve the quality of the connection, especially its tensile strength and breaking strength. <IMAGE>
