In a chain joint for round link chains, whose complementary part links with their overlapping legs are each provided with a cutout for a positive-locking middle piece which receives a blocking pin for the purpose of positional securing, it is provided according to the invention that the axes of the cutout enclose an acute angle with the main plane of the chain joint and have, on their peripheral surfaces at the part links, recessed pressure bearing surfaces for at least one blocking element built into the middle part, which blocking element is arranged captively and in a sunk-in manner in the middle piece and can be driven outwards until it comes to bear on the pressure bearing surfaces with the blocking pin.
