PURPOSE:To provide strength at high temp. and castability to a heat resistant cast steel having a specified composition by specifying the amounts of C and Mn in the steel and regulating the amounts of Mo and Nb to specified optimum amounts in relation to the amounts of C and Mn. CONSTITUTION:The composition of a cast steel is composed of, by weight, 0.3-2.0% C, <=2.0% Si, 1-6% Mn, <=0.05% P, <=0.05% S, 13-27% Cr, 5-14% Ni, 0.5-3% Mo, 0.5-3% Nb and the balance Fe. The amount of C can be increased by selecting the amount of Mn, so the cast steel has superior castability comparable to that of gray cast iron. Since Mo and Nb are added by the optimum amounts, the strength of the cast steel at high temp. is improved without deteriorating the oxidation resistance.
