In a method for the discharge control of hydraulic jigs, which discharge control is provided with a drive for actuating the discharge element in the opening direction and closing direction, a sensor which responds to the thickness of the heavy material layer in the discharge region, a first trigger which can be driven by the sensor when a specified maximum thickness of the heavy material layer is exceeded and which serves for switching over the drive into the opening direction, and a second trigger which can be driven by the sensor when the thickness valve of the heavy material layer drops below a specified minimum and which serves for switching over the drive into the closing direction, the vertical motion of the sensor and/or of the pulsation of the water in the hydraulic jig is detected. This vertical motion is used for correcting the distance between the upper and the lower maximum value of the position of the trigger which is used for switching over the drive of the discharge element and, at the same time, a displacement of the position of the maximum values is permitted without the distance of the maximum values being altered with respect to one another.
