The invention relates to a device for taking a sample from a liquid container, especially of a milk collection system. A chamber 4 can be filled via a valve 2 with liquid from the liquid container 1. The chamber 4 which can be loaded with compressed air is connected to a filling pipe 5 via two pipe sections 7, 9 which can be blocked by means of valves 8, 10 and are connected to the settling basin and halfway up the chamber 4.
