The invention relates to an apparatus for the auxiliary drive for printing machines to generate low speeds. The object of the invention, to provide an auxiliary drive for printing machines with which a plurality of low creep speeds can be effected, in a jolt-free and even movement without an interruption of the tensile force and without a flank change, to carry out servicing and setting-up work in accordance with occupational safety regulations, is achieved in that two braking motors are assigned to a gear mechanism which drives the main drive shaft via a belt drive, a back gearing and a clutch.
