PURPOSE:To obtain a semiconductor line sensor, cost of which is reduced and which has high reliability, by housing a die pad section and an external lead section integrally formed to a frame and a semiconductor element, which is fixed and held to the die pad section and to which the external lead section and a wiring are executed, into a tube made of a synthetic resin and sealing both ends of the tube. CONSTITUTION:Die pad sections 3 and external lead sections 2 integrally shaped to a frame 1 and semiconductor elements 5, which are fastened and held to the die pad sections 3 and to which the external lead sections 2 and wirings 7 are executed, are housed into a tube 9 made of a synthetic resin, and both ends of the tube 9 are sealed 10. The beltlike frame 1 in which a plurality of the die pad sections 3 and a plurality of the external lead sections 2 are formed continuously and integrally is prepared, the semiconductor elements 5 are fixed onto the die pad sections 3, and the external lead sections 2 and the wirings 7 are executed. One part of the frame 1 is notched, the tube 9 made of the synthetic resin is inserted from the notch section 8, the die pad sections 3 and one parts of the external lead sections 2 are housed into the tube 9, and both ends of the tube 9 are sealed 10, thus manufacturing a semiconductor line sensor.
