<p>1529505 Electrostatic precipitators DART INDUSTRIES INC 10 May 1976 [19 June 1975] 19152/76 Heading B2J A wet type of electrostatic precipitator includes an electrode supporting base assembly 18 comprising a number of radially spaced apart, annular collector trough assemblies 70 which are U-shaped in cross-section and catch the liquid draining from the faces of respective annular collector electrodes 48, a number of radially disposed drain trough structures 26 which are supported by the circular outer housing wall 22 and which are in communication with the collector trough assemblies 70 to receive liquid draining therefrom, a liquid outlet 32 from the drain troughs 26 to the exterior of housing wall 22, and, as shown in Fig. 4, a venturi component structure 86, 88, 90 straddles below each collector trough 70 to ensure a smooth flow of fluid. As shown, each annular collector trough 70 is made up from a number of arcuate sections extending between the radial drain troughs 26 and sealed thereto at 82, Fig. 3, with apertures 78, 80 in the side walls 34, 36 providing the liquid communication between the two troughs 26, 70. The drain troughs 26 are U-shaped in crosssection with plates 42 at intervals across the open end on which are mounted the respective collector electrodes 48 by bolts 46. Removable plugs 68 in the base 30 of the drain troughs 26 provide access to the bolts 46 for securing or removing the collector electrodes 48, the drain trough base 30 itself sloping downwards away from the hub 28 towards the outer wall 22.</p> |
