The invention relates to a device 1 for treating hair 11 by means of a treatment agent 10, which device has a flat, straight elongate body 2, and the one end is provided with angled, flat teeth 4 arranged in a row 5 and with a spacing 3, a lengthwise boundary edge 6, 6' being arranged in each case at the beginning and at the end of the row of teeth at a right angle thereto. The device is characterised in that the teeth 4 have broad sides 7, 7' running in parallel and are pointed in the region of their free end, and the ratio of the tooth spacing 3 to the tooth width 8 is at least 1:2.5. Additionally, a use of the device 1 for wetting the hair with the treatment agent in stripes is proposed. <IMAGE>
