摘要 The automatically coupling traction coupling 6 for rail vehicles 1 having side buffers 4, 5 has a coupling head which, in the uncoupled state, protrudes in front of the plane of the buffers. During coupling processes, this coupling head can be displaced backwards counter to spring forces which are dimensioned to be strong enough so as to reliably overcome the resistances of the locking gear of the traction coupling and thus ensure that the coupling process procedure proceeds reliably. In the further return stroke area of the traction coupling 6 to a rear limit position 6''', the traction coupling, experiences at least, no substantial rise in force which prevents this further return stroke and, instead, if appropriate, the counterforce is reduced. By means of this design of the return stroke suspension of the traction coupling, on the one hand reliable coupling and on the other hand a virtually negligibly small change in the buffer characteristics for the rail vehicle 1 is achieved. <IMAGE>
