PURPOSE:To obtain a product excellent in heat resistance and mechanical strength by a method wherein specified resin is melted by heating or melted in solvent by heating and then quenched and molded. CONSTITUTION:Resin mainly consisting of styrene-based polymer having mainly syndiotactic structure is employed as the molding stock. The styrene-based polymer has a stereostructure in which side chains or phenyl groups and substituent phenyl groups lie alternately on each side of the main chain made of carbon- carbon linkage. The molding stock is melted by heating at 260-350 deg.C, preferably at 280-330 deg.C, or melted in aromatic hydrocarbon solvent by heating and then cooled down below 100 deg.C at the cooling rate of 50 deg.C/min or higher, preferably at 100 deg.C/min or higher. The resultant quenched molding stock pellets are molded by a suitable means in order to manufacture a resinous molded item. |
