PURPOSE:To detect abnormal states in plural detection areas at a time by distributing and reflecting an electromagnetic or ultrasonic wave which is transmitted by a transmission part to respective reflection parts installed in the plural detection areas by a rotary reflecting body, and receiving it by a reception part. CONSTITUTION:A detecting device consists of the transmission part 1 which transmits an electromagnetic wave omega, plural reflection parts 2 which are installed in the plural detection areas and reflect the electromagnetic wave omega, the reception part 3 which receives the electromagnetic wave reflected by the reflection parts 2, the rotary reflecting body 4 which distributes and reflects the incident signal from the transmission part 1 to the reflection parts 2, and a detecting means 5 which compares the reception level of the electromagnetic wave omega reflected by the reflection parts 2 in the plural detection areas with a set level value to detect abnormality. Then, if abnormality occurs in one of plural detection areas and the electromagnetic wave omega changes in reflection direction at the reflection part 2, the light incident on the reception part 3 changes. Consequently, the electromagnetic wave omega at the reception part varies in reception level and the detecting means 5 detects the abnormality in the detection area.
