PURPOSE:To convert electrical energy into mechanical driving force with high efficiency by providing a protruded part which becomes the contact part of a contact member and a vibrator in the position near to the region with the maximum vibration of the vibrator. CONSTITUTION:Since a high frequency voltage having phase difference is applied to a piezoelectric element 4 attached to the adjacent two surfaces of opposed sides 3 of each vibration unit 2, the opposed sides 3 make the circular or elliptic movement at the maximum vibration part. Since the contact member 6 is placed in contact with the one surface of opposed sides 3, either a contact member 6 or a vibrator 1 is driven, providing mechanical driving force. In this case, each vibration unit 2 is formed in the shape of letter or. Accordingly, both opposed sides 3 resonate with each other and large vibration amplitude can be obtained. Moreover since a protruded part 6a which becomes the contact part is provided at the position near to the maximum vibration part of vibrator 1, at least to either the contact member 6 or vibrator 1, the vibrator and the contact member can be surely brought into contact near the maximum amplitude part, independent of the surface accuracy of the vibrator 1 or the contact member 6. |
