PURPOSE:To shorten a key scan cycle by dividing keys of a key matrix into plural key groups for each type and in accordance with difference of characteristic in terms of the operating speed and operating frequency and giving weighting of the key operating cycle to each key group. CONSTITUTION:The 1st ten-key part and an auto-dial key part different i operating speed of continuous keys are provided to a key matrix 13 of a key input system. A CPU11 serving as a key input means scan those two key parts and the scanned keys are detected. A ten-key push flag 117 of a key scan control part 115 is turned on when a key analyzing part 112 of the CPU11 detects the push of the keys. A scan weighting counter 118 controls the scan multiple to the dial key part to scan simultaneously both ten-key and dial key parts. Thus the key scan cycle is shortened.
